About This Course

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health certificates (NEBOSH IGC) Training is a job-oriented level-3 certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management developed by the UK-based independent examination board. It is an internationally recognized HSE qualification by various awarding bodies globally.

NEBOSH is the most renowned organization in the world. Since 1979, about 400,000 people worldwide have obtained National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health certificates. providing both health and safety certificates and environmental certifications. This Course is widely recognized as the most prestigious and sought-after security training. NEBOSH has modified the IGC syllabus in response to comments from security professionals.

The new curriculum is modified in order to allow for a more thorough assessment of essential abilities. It looks at how to manage health and safety effectively, as well as how to spot hazards. Key hazards in all types of work should be decreased and controlled. Risk assessment is important to IGC certification because it ensures that it appropriately represents the real duties that workers perform.

 NEBOSH OBE

NEBOSH has introduced a new pattern of examination assessment, i.e., Online Open Book Examination (OBE), where learners can attend the exam remotely from anywhere across the globe. NEBOSH has a permanent alternative for proctored paper examinations.

Format of the open-book examination:

The open book examination will begin by giving you a scenario. This will typically describe a realistic organization or workplace with an outline of normal operational activities and worker behaviour. The scenario may go on to outline a developing situation, such as an incident or safety intervention. You may be asked to imagine that you hold a specific role, such as a safety manager, in the workplace described. You will be asked to carry out a series of tasks (Questions), which may be split into several sub-tasks(sub-questions).

Answers, therefore, need to be relevant to the scenario and, in some cases, specific evidence will be required to support your answers. As we expect you to provide more detail and reflection, you will be given 24 hours to research and complete the examination.

Assessment

The NEBOSH International General Certificate is divided into two units of study, each of which is evaluated independently:

UNIT IG1 – An open book test to check your knowledge. This is a scenario-based interview, and you will be asked questions concerning your contribution (4hrs from 24 hrs).

100 marks total (The minimum passing marks is 45%.)

UNIT IG2 – A realistic risk assessment to determine what you are capable of (3 hours).

The outcome will be either a ‘Pass’ or a ‘Refer’.

Candidates who earn at least a “PASS” mark in both IG1 and IG2 are certified.
